BIOMASS ENERGY!

The alternative resource

The alternitive resource is ethanol. Ethanol energy is energy stored in wastes. Simialar to biomass. Except research shows that this energy has a smaller energy density level. It also cost 2.5 more times than biomass energy. Some good things obout it though are that it is a renewable resource, it can even help argiculter economic as research shows.

The process of biomass

Wood (plant,etc) waste is transported form said place to power plant. At the power plant the wood waste will be burned this will create steam and turn a turbine. Turning this turbine creates electricity. The electricity will then be converted to the electricity poles to a house,business, where ever.

The waste gathered are stored and burned. the exaust and ash are taken out and the rest goes thruogh a furnaceboiler and becomes steam. It is then spun through a turbine and is electricity.Some of the biomass is condensed thruogh a condenser and then it goes thruogh the same process and becomes electricity.

Advantages

The advantage of not burning fossil fuels and useing biomass is that it pollutes less,its renewable, and it is a much less compilcated process. You can find it any where! In trees and grass and plants. Useing biomass is much cheeper than useing fossil fuels. It is reducing the amount or polution and acid rain too.


DISADVANTAGES

A disatvantige is when we burn the wood for biomass. when burning a green house gas is let into the air. This may lead to what many scientest call global warming. Thats when there there green house gases heat up the earth. Many biomass facilties have to get a permit for construction and prperations. The cost is extremly high for building the factorys and there has been a large sclae part production.

Ways it relates to my life

This relates to my everyday life in the way that I use electricity. So do my friends family and neighbors it is a regular part of our lives. We use this energy in cooking, space heating,water heating, frigdes, we even use it to fuel our vehicles. Energy is a big part in the human life. Biomass also makes up apart of that energy. So that how it relates to my everyday life.

In this pie chart you can tell that renewable (biomass) energy is not used very much which is not good. Biomass is only 3.3% of the pie chart. While the most used in the U.S. is petroleum.
